Required Windows User Privileges for WINDOX5?

In principle, a WINDOX5 user needs to be MS-Windows power user of the PC. The required privileges are as follows:

1. Write access to directory "\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application data\Sympatec\WINDOX5". User configuration, database configuration, and session data are stored in this branch.
2. Write access to the Windows Registry. Most of the settings available in the dialog, "Setup & Options" of the sensor control programs is stored in the Registry.
3. The privlilege to stop and restart a service if the WINDOX5 Database or User Administration program is executed.

If a company policy requires that WINDOX users should not be Windows Power Users, the following considerations must be made:

WINDOX will definitely not run if (1.) is not fulfilled. So, this directory branch must be made writeable for ever user of the PC.

(2.) If a Power User made all necessary settings of the dialog, "Setup & Options" , it is possible to use the sensor control programs as an ordinary user and ignore the respective warning when the program is started.

It is not possible to overcome (3.). So a WINDOX Administrator can never be a pure ordinary user.
